Matthew Rose

Qualifications

Matthew was acknowledged as a Foundation NZX Broker in June 2003. Previously, he was a Member of the New Zealand Stock Exchange from 1986. He is a Licensed Sharebroker, which renews annually. He gained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Canterbury in 1984, and the Series 7 qualification from The National Association of Securities Dealers ( NASD ) in the USA in 1998. In June 2011, Matthew became an Authorised Financial Adviser ( AFA ) .

Industry Experience

Matthew commenced his career in the sharebroking industry in 1984 as an investment adviser and floor operator with Greville & Co. In 1989 he joined Whiteman McCaughan Dyson Limited as an institutional dealer, and was appointed a Director of the firm in 1991. In 1992, he joined Hendry Hay McIntosh Ltd as an institutional dealer and Associate Director. In 1995, Matthew took a leave of absence from the industry to pursue private business interests in Queenstown. In 1997, Merrill Lynch (New Zealand ) Ltd employed Matthew to head the company’s Corporate and Institutional Client Group’s sales and trading desk, and he was appointed a Director. In December 2000 Matthew was appointed Managing Principal of Merrill Lynch (New Zealand ) Ltd, and in 2001 he established his own sharebroking, investment advisory and management business, Rose Capital Management Limited, an NZX Accredited Firm based in Queenstown. Matthew is an Authorised Financial Adviser ( AFA ).
